This is a fascinating trip to Pavlovsk – a Tsar’s residence built for the Russian Emperor Paul I, the son of Catherine the Great.
A car with a guide will meet you at your hotel and’ll take you towards mysteries and riddles that surrounded the enigmatic life of Paul I. You’ll visit a Palace where Paul I and his family spent their summertime and that still saves the traces of their fates. The rooms of Pavlovsk Palace are decorated with natural and artificial marble, molding and paintings. The interior decor blends well with the magnificent objects of decorative and applied art, such as vases of semiprecious stones from the Urals and Altai mountains, ornamental metalwork, porcelain, colored glass, ivory, amber and many other objects fashioned by skilled craftsmen from designs by architects working in Pavlovsk. West European objects of art, such as paintings, bronzes, fabrics, furniture and so forth, were also acquired specially for the palace.
You’ll go for a walk around a beautiful landscape park, one of the largest in Europe, which covers an area of 600 hectares.
